OK, so this year’s Indianapolis
500 won’t be run in the month of May. For many of us, however, May is more
state of mind than just a month. So let’s still celebrate great cars and
drivers of the past anyway!

No. 4, Al Unser, 1973 Viceroy Parnelli/Offy. Big Al was going for his third 500
win in four years in the 1973 race. He led 18 laps before being sidelined by
piston failure after 75 circuits, finishing 20th. #Indy500 @IMS @IMSMuseum
